4K is the new superstar in televisions. Ultra High Definition. With about 8 million pixels, 4K is four times what your current 1080p set can display. More pixels offer more information and that offers sharper pictures. We want the sharpest pictures we can get, don't we? (Just remember, though, that you need to be viewing 4K content to get the full effect, or sitting closer, which is doable with this TV.) The ability to get up close to the screen without the image breaking down is one of the most intoxicating things about 4K. A 4K display reveals an astonishing increase in nuance and detail. Blu-Ray players and movies are starting to come out in 4K, Amazon and Netflix are testing it out, and a few films and TV shows are filming in 4K. Like many of the OLED TVs, the E8P is visually striking. The design is completely bezel-free, with a single pane of glass covering the OLED panel from edge to edge, with a slim quarter-inch frame of blackness surrounding the active part of the display (which disappears whenever the TV shows anything black, thanks to the OLED technology).
The bottom edge of the screen holds a 0.75-inch black speaker grille, under which extends two inches of clear glass. The E8's picture is outstanding! With dark or dim rooms there's no contest between OLED and any other TV in existence. It's more than bright enough for any lighting environment. Black levels are superb. Color accuracy is excellent, and video processing phenomenal. Another big OLED advantage over LCD is its superb image when viewed from off-angle, in positions other than the sweet spot directly in front of the screen. The OLEDs maintained black level fidelity and color accuracy much better than any of the LED LCDs.
One of my favorite things about the TV is its remote. It makes things simple, and even fun! The C7's "Magic Remote," an infrared-based clicker, stands out from the average remote control because you can point it at the screen and cast a movable cursor there to interact with smart features and menu settings.
